2020 is a perfect year for reflection. We have diven deep into our own philosophy by making a series of three short documentaries. One of which was subtitled in English and will be presented below. In our documentaries we talked to key players in the Dutch realm of food and design and tried to unravel the impact of co-creation.

In the last eight years we have facilitated many projects and have been amazed by the outcomes of the collaboration between farmers and designers. After each project, we talk to both farmers and designers to study their process. The lessons we learn, we share on our platform. This way, we make sure to not only share the challenges and outcomes, but also provide a look into the proces that led to the outcome. For this series of documentaries, we have taken a step back even further. By interviewing professionals about their view on the impact design can have, we have extracted theories about systemic change. These will hopefully guide designers, spark the interest of policymakers and encourage farmers to collaborate with designers.
For the first film, we talked to professor ‘Future Food Systems’ Frederike Praasterink at HAS University of Applied Sciences. She helped us to look at the ways in which design can enrich the path towards future food systems.

For the second film we got together with embodied systemic designer Sietske Klooster. We have worked together with Sietske many times in the last eight years. During this period, she has run her project ‘De MelkSalon’. This has been a very succesful project in which many partners have been involved. We have facilitated the project several times along the way. In this film, we talk about the project and more importantly: the lessons she has learned from it about systemic change.
